Kenneth M.F. McGrath
Publisher, former public-school educator, and the sole operator of CIONAOD Inc. — a federally incorporated Canadian company in Ottawa that runs on one.
Kenneth M.F. McGrath founded CIONAOD Inc., a multimedia publishing company in Ottawa, Ontario, and runs it alone: publishing, standards development, instructional design and web application development, across a small family of imprints and brands. Before that he taught in public schools, which is where the habit of explaining the why once and then showing the how comes from.
Runs On One is the operating manual he built for his own company before he wrote it down for anyone else's: ten instruments, one evening each, filled in with his own numbers first. The three businesses in the book are composites; the method is the one the company runs on.
He writes under his own name for manuals and non-fiction, and under other names for fiction and performance work.
